Detailed review
Measurements and clasp lettering on my Starbucks sample
In this review, I put my green-bezel, black-dial Submariner sample on a scale, take a caliper reading across the watch head, and examine the lettering inside its clasp. The useful evidence is specific: a scale display of 157.14 g, my reported 40.5 mm caliper reading, and close views of the clasp engraving, including E7Y. Those details need different levels of confidence; they are not interchangeable proofs of factory origin.
If you have a Starbucks sample with a different reading or clasp engraving, message me through the WhatsApp button on this page. I can help you compare the measurement setup and the actual lettering before drawing a conclusion from a number or code.
What this inspection establishes
I introduce this watch as VSF with a Dandong 3235, commonly called DD3235. Its green bezel, black dial, date Cyclops and Oyster-style bracelet correspond to the Submariner Date 126610LV design. This is a replica sample review, not an authentication of a genuine Rolex.
The caseback remains closed, so DD3235 is my spoken identification rather than a movement demonstrated in this recording. My phrase “third-generation green Submariner” does not establish a specific VSF factory revision, production batch or bezel generation. The material-folder number is not a version designation.
The main takeaways are that the weight is a recorded sample result, the caliper figure needs its contact points and visibility limits, and the clasp lettering is an inspection cue that requires corroboration.
157.14 g on the display, 157.1 g in my narration
At approximately 01:40, the scale clearly displays 157.14 g with the watch and fitted bracelet on the platform and my hands clear. I say 157.1 g in the narration. The displayed and spoken figures are consistent at that rounding level; I retain the more precise visible reading as the recorded result.
The scale shows zero before placement, but I do not demonstrate calibration with a reference mass. The link count and standardized bracelet length are not documented, and protective material remains visible. The last digit on a display is not an accuracy certificate.
My earlier Starbucks weight and clasp review records 157.78 g. The numerical difference is 0.64 g, but the recordings do not establish matched bracelet configurations, identical weighing conditions or whether these are different physical watches. That difference does not demonstrate a factory revision, a changed component or a different movement.
In my commentary I describe the combined components and weight as difficult to reproduce. That is my professional assessment. This weighing sequence does not independently establish an exclusive supply chain, alloy composition or a factory-authentication threshold.
What I mean by the reported 40.5 mm
At 01:55–02:06, I position the caliper across opposite outer edges of the watch head and report 40.5 mm. The video preserves how I hold the jaws, which matters more than quoting the number without its setup.
There is a visibility limit: the on-screen contact overlay partly covers the digital display at the moment I report 40.5 mm. I therefore distinguish the spoken reading from a fully unobstructed, independently readable result. The contact points also do not establish a standardized case-diameter measurement excluding the crown, a certified bezel diameter or a manufacturing tolerance.
For a useful comparison, I would ask for a repeat measurement with both jaw tips visible, the caliper square to the intended span and the display unobstructed. A small difference obtained at a different contact point should not automatically be called a case-size defect or a new version.
The clasp lettering I inspect—and what it cannot prove
At 02:19–02:35, I point into the clasp around the GENEVA / SWISS MADE engraving and discuss a flat-topped A and an E with a short middle stroke. These are the letter-form details I look at in this recording. The close-up lets a viewer inspect the area I mean, although glare and viewing angle affect the apparent edges of fine engraving.
The reverse inner-clasp view at approximately 02:59 clearly shows STEELINOX and E7Y. E7Y is a visible clasp marking here; it is not a watch serial number, a verified production date or proof of the installed movement.
There is also a wording mismatch worth preserving. My narration refers to an A “on this side,” while this view shows STEELINOX and E7Y. I do not treat that sentence as visual confirmation of an A in STEELINOX. The earlier GENEVA close-up is the relevant area for the letter-A discussion.
Community discussion of changing VS clasp codes illustrates why owners ask about codes alongside overall details. Those posts are not an authenticated factory registry, and I do not use them to assign E7Y to a specific batch. This recording also contains no authenticated comparison clasp that would establish these letter forms as exclusive to VSF.
For the separate dial, rehaut-prefix and bezel inspection, see my Starbucks identification review. For the movement background, see the Dandong 3235 knowledge page; this episode does not add an open-caseback inspection, reserve test or accuracy measurement.

Strengths
Visible sample weight, caliper placement, close clasp lettering and readableE7Y, with explicit observation and narration boundaries.
What to watch for
No standardized bracelet length, calibration mass, unobstructed final caliper display, exclusive code registry, opened movement or verified factory generation.

Questions answered
Can 157.14 g, a 40.5 mm reading and E7Y confirm VSF or DD3235?
No. They document this inspection, with different evidence limits. Weight depends on the fitted configuration and weighing conditions; the caliper reading is reported with a partly obscured display; E7Y is a clasp marking. None independently verifies factory provenance or the movement inside a closed caseback. Compare the complete sample and obtain movement evidence when movement identification is the question.
