Detailed review
One dial detail, one sample
In this review, I focus on the shallow-looking contour around the centre of a VSF-attributed Batman dial. I bring the watch close, point to the area immediately below the hand stack and change its angle. This is a visual inspection of one sample—not a measurement of dial depth or a factory-authentication test.
If you are comparing this detail on your own blue-and-black GMT, contact me through the WhatsApp button. I can help you check whether your photos show the same area clearly enough to discuss.
The useful observation
At roughly 1:36–2:11, my pointer identifies the dial surface surrounding the central hand assembly. The close-up shows a small recessed-looking contour near the centre; its appearance changes with the reflections across the crystal and glossy dial. The frame at 2:02 records the indicated area, while the surrounding video is more useful for judging how it looks as I tilt the watch.
“Dial dimple” or “hand-stack dimple” is a useful description here. It describes appearance without claiming that I have measured a depression, identified its manufacturing cause or diagnosed damage. The hands and pointer partly obscure the centre, and the view is through the crystal. I do not remove the dial or inspect its underside.
The key takeaway is to inspect this feature under more than one angle. A single strongly reflected photograph is a poor basis for declaring two dials identical—or deciding that one must be defective.
Identification: what this episode does and does not establish
The watch has a black dial, blue-and-black bezel and an Oyster-style three-piece-link bracelet: the configuration commonly called Batman. Its design corresponds to GMT-Master II 126710BLNR. Rolex's 126710BLNR Oyster configuration supplies the genuine-reference context; it does not authenticate the reviewed replica or its materials.
I introduce this sample as VS Factory with a Dandong 3285, usually written DD3285. There is no open-caseback inspection or GMT-setting demonstration in this episode. For actual exposed-movement observations, see my DD3285 movement inspection. Factory and movement identification here remain my spoken attribution.
In the original commentary, I describe the dimple as absent from other factories and identical to the genuine watch. Those statements go beyond the comparison evidence recorded here: there is no side-by-side factory set, authenticated genuine comparator or surface measurement. I therefore treat it as a detail I look for, not an exclusive VSF signature or proof of equivalence.
I also explain that I removed the VS sticker from the crystal to make the dial easier to see. The recording shows the resulting view, not a documented sticker-removal test. A missing sticker is not, by itself, evidence against the stated factory.
The QC question worth asking
Community discussions use “dial dimple” both as a neutral description and as a QC concern. A VSF GMT owner discussion asks whether the appearance is normal or a defect; a Batman QC discussion questions how prominent it looks. These are owner reports, not an agreed tolerance or a technical diagnosis of my sample.
For a useful comparison, I recommend a straight-on view and a short, slowly tilted clip under steady light, with the crystal unobstructed. Keep the central dial area visible and separate appearance from function. This recording provides no evidence of hand contact, rate performance or a depth limit that would define a pass or fail.
My clasp-lettering inspection covers a separate set of identification cues. This dial episode adds another sample observation; it does not establish a newer or older factory generation. The folder suffix “2” has no explained version meaning in the source.

Strengths
Original close-up and changing viewing angles document the indicated central dial area.
What to watch for
No measured depth, verified cause, factory exclusivity or genuine-equivalence conclusion. No proven generation or movement inspection.
Movement summary
Dandong 3285 / DD3285 — spoken attribution only; no caseback inspection
Questions answered
Can the dial dimple prove that a Batman is VSF?
No. I point out the feature on this sample, but this episode supplies neither a controlled factory comparison nor manufacturing provenance. Use it as a comparison detail, not a standalone authentication rule.
Does this inspection show that the dial is damaged?
No damage diagnosis is established. The video records a recessed-looking central contour through the crystal, without depth measurement, disassembly or a functional test linked to it. Its prominence should be judged on the specific sample with clear views.

Current status
This inspection is limited to the recorded sample and qualified professional commentary.
Message me through the existing WhatsApp button if you want to discuss a Batman dial close-up. Send the straight-on view and a short tilted clip if available; I can help you distinguish what is visible from what would still require movement inspection, measurement or stronger factory evidence.
