VSF Submariner Dial Dimple: What My Close-Up Can Establish
I inspect a VSF-attributed Submariner dial dimple under changing light and explain why this appearance alone cannot verify factory origin or DD3235.

Detailed review
The central dial inspection
In this review, I focus on one small area of a black Submariner Date: the dial immediately around the hand stack. I move the watch through the light and point to a shallow, recessed-looking contour. This is a closer dial inspection, rather than another demonstration of the bezel or date setting.
If that area looks unusual on your Submariner, contact me through the WhatsApp button. I can help you compare the relevant views before treating a reflection as either a defect or proof of factory origin.
What I am inspecting
The watch has a black dial and bezel, a date window with Cyclops magnifier, and an Oyster-style bracelet. Its configuration and the small coronet between SWISS and MADE correspond to the 126610LN Submariner Date design. I have not authenticated an engraved reference or measured the case in this episode.
I introduce the watch as VS Factory with Dandong 3235, commonly called DD3235 or VS3235. Those are my spoken identifications. The caseback stays closed, and this recording provides no movement inspection or operating test that could establish the calibre independently. I give no specific factory version or batch.
The close-up around the hand stack
At 1:48–2:29, I bring the dial closer, vary its angle and use a pencil to indicate the area around and just below the central hand mounting point. At 2:05–2:15, I describe a slightly sunken effect. The changing light makes the local contour easier to notice, although the hands, pointer and strong crystal reflections partially obscure it.
The useful takeaway is an inspection location and a viewing method. It is not a measurement of dial depth. I cannot determine from this through-crystal view whether the appearance comes from the dial substrate, its surface finish or a combination of surface shape and reflections. Nor does the recording establish damage, manufacturing tolerances or a universal acceptance threshold.
My narration goes further: I suggest this detail can identify VSF and say other factories do not reproduce it. That is my identification assessment in the source, not a demonstrated exclusivity test. No authenticated alternative-factory dial appears alongside this sample. A dial feature also cannot establish the manufacturer of the movement beneath it.
How this fits the other inspections
My bezel and quickset-date review documents operation and clasp evidence. This episode adds a close-up of the central dial area; it does not establish that the two recordings show different factory versions, or even independently identify whether they show the same physical watch.
I have also examined a similar central-dial appearance on a VSF Batman. That is related evidence on a different model, not proof of identical construction or a shared production batch.
Collectors use terms such as dial dimple, dial ripple and hand-stack halo. In a Submariner owner discussion about the hand-stack reflection, visibility varies with lighting and owners disagree about its significance. That discussion helps explain the buyer question; claims about genuine watches, coating processes or newer batches remain community context, not verified specifications for my sample.
For a practical check, I recommend a straight-on view followed by a short, slow tilt under diffuse light. Keep the central area unobstructed and compare the same location across angles. An isolated glare-heavy frame is a weak basis for diagnosing damage or authenticating a factory. I mention a future teardown at the end of this recording, but no teardown is performed here.

Strengths
Focused close-up and changing-angle video preserve the central dial inspection and its identification limits.
What to watch for
No open movement, depth measurement, controlled factory comparison or verified version. Reflections and hand/pointer obstruction limit interpretation.
Movement summary
Dandong 3235 / DD3235 / VS3235 — spoken attribution; no open movement
Questions answered
Can the dial dimple prove VSF or DD3235?
No. This video records the appearance and my identification claim, but supplies neither a controlled factory comparison nor an opened movement. Treat it as a detail to inspect alongside other evidence.
